Menstrual Cycle Awareness Workshop

This ain’t no 5th Grade Maturation, this is a GIRLS NIGHT OUT!

This workshop is designed to normalize the conversation about periods and menstruation with you and your teen, what’s happening, why, and how to manage the ups and downs of being a cyclical being. This workshop is designed for teens ages 11-15, although the material is appropriate and relevant for teens of any age. And you’ll probably learn some things too.

We’re talking about periods?!

Yes! But I promise it will be way more useful and fun than fifth grade maturation and when you’re done, you’ll have your own language to talk about your cycle with each other AND with the men and boys in your life (no more discreet lingo to pretend this isn’t happening).

What We’ll Cover…

  1. Why we have a period

  2. Physiology of menstruation

  3. What a normal period looks like

  4. What and how to track your cycle

  5. What causes PMS and how to get rid of it, naturally

  6. Traditional and alternative menstrual products and how to use them

  7. Why Hormonal Birth Control isn’t good for teens

  8. The four seasons of your cycle and how living in sync with them is the secret to your best life

About the presenter:

Meredith Ashton Cohen is a Certified Holistic Birth Doula who specializes in natural, out of hospital birth and period health for teens and their moms. She started studying the menstrual cycle when she lost hers in college (2006), it was a rock bottom place for her so she dug in deep. Meredith discovered how to use food as medicine to heal her symptoms and the magic of cycle syncing to bring her hormones and period back into regular cycling. This workshop is full of the information she wishes she had as a teenager to be able to manage her period and use it to her advantage in all areas of her life.
